I Like Setting my Own RhythmPosted on 12/11/09
Review by Tara F.Rating I like this pump, but for me the massaging pad did not really work. I took it out, and I'm usually able to pump between 2 and 4 ounces. I had a cheaper pump before that worked great, but the newer model was no good. I decided to try this one as it had good reviews. I really liked how you set it to your rythm and it just goes, it makes it much easier and faster to pump. For me though I wished it had a little more suction as i have rather large breasts and with every pump I've tried, it takes the highest suction for my niples to be drawn in at all.

Good PumpPosted on 12/9/09
Review by Amanda busy working momRating I had to go back to work when my daughter was three months old and I wanted to continue breastfeeding. I had a second hand Avent manual pump and I used it for three months at work but I found that my hand would get tired before I got enough milk for my daughter. I bought this pump on a whim. At first I was very disappointed in the pump, because I had read reviews that said that people were getting 8 oz in no time flat and I was not. I did not get discouraged. I continued to use my manual pump at work and on weekends I used the electric pump. It took about a week or two to get used to the electric pump. I now get the same amount of breast milk in less time and without a sore hand. I also got the added bonus of getting double the amount of parts (except for the electric part) because I already had an AVENT pump. This is a very easy pump to use but you should read the instruction book carefully because it will tell you how to increase the suction and how to keep the rhythm you set. I have now been using this electric pump for almost two months, pumping 4 times a day, and it is still going strong. If I realized how good this pump worked I would have spent the extra money and bought the double pump. This pump doesn't work magic; it is not going to increase your milk production over night, it takes time to get used to the pump and for you to get into the right frame of mind. I found if I relaxed and did not worry about the amount I was getting I would pump more faster.

Really mimics breastfeeding flow.Posted on 11/9/09
Review by Coastal momRating I like this breast pump. I think its easy to clean, and easy to use. I have the whole Avent line (sterilizer, heater, bottle, storage system) and this makes using it all seemless.
Not unlike breastfeeding, you sometimes need to "unlatch" and adjust the suction to totally empty, but it takes 2 seconds to readjust and continue on pumping.
I have one side the pumps super easy, and one that needs a little finessing to get the flow going. But in a half hour or less, I can fill up that bottle! I like that it doesn't have super suction, I don't feel like a cow being hooked up to the milkers.
It travels wells, and is discreet. Breast feeding is a state of mind, if you expect to hook up and be able to multi-task, this may not be the pump for you. But if you can invest 10 minutes in some good pumping and pay attention to your own flow, this works great! -
Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!Posted on 9/7/09
Review by Brittney PatridgeRating I don't often write reviews, but I love this pump so much, I had to share my positive experience. After looking online at several pumps, I finally decided to purchase this model after reading mostly positive reviews about it. I am SO glad I did!
I had a manual hand pump and it would literally take me days to pump 4 oz of milk. With this pump I can get 4 oz or more in one or two very short pumping sessions! Fabulous!
The "petals" in the cushion really work to stimulate let down. I find that I can even pump after my baby has eaten her fill and this pump will often prompt a second let down! Plus, the motor is so quiet I can pump next to my sleeping baby, which can help let down as well.
Honestly, I was scared to buy an electric pump because I had heard that the powerful suction made them painful to use. I am pleased to report that this pump does not hurt at all. You can set the suction and speed to your personal preference, which is super handy. You simply pump in a way that is comfortable and effective for you, press the button to switch to electric mode, and voila! You can change up the pumping style as often as you want with no hassle.
It is easier to clean than my other pump and is so simple to assemble. It includes a wall outlet cord or you can use batteries to power it. It also includes parts to convert it to a manual pump so you can use it on the go or when power is not available.
The only negative comment would be that sometimes milk flows back under the "petal" cushion, but I have never had a problem with it leaking while I am pumping and making a mess. You just rinse it away when you clean the pump, so it is not horribly bothersome in my opinion.
All in all, this is a fabulous pump, especially for the price! I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quick, easy, painless way to pump! -
