These bottles do indeed leak, unless you can figure out the 'trick'... It really ought to be documented from the manufacturer.

This is what I do:

Fill up the bottle with formula (or milk), make sure the edge of the bottle is clean. Now wet the nipple (the inside rubber part) thoroughly (this is the 'trick'). When you screw on the nipple, go slowly, make sure it's straight on, and don't over tighten. With the wet nipple, you can sort of feel (and hear) when it gets a good seal, it's sort of a "suction" noise.

I've been using this product since 2001. My first son was a preemie and he was always in pain due to gas. I started using Avent after trying different brands and wasting a lot of money. I will not change this brand. I have to say that yes it does leak if you DON'T CLOSE the bottle correctly. The milk comes out of the ring NOT THE NIPPLE. It happend to me and I won't lie. This are specially desing bottles that will help youre baby, preventing them to get gas (a problem that every newborn have) I learned right away that I was NOT CLOSING THE BOTTLE CORRECTLY. After learning how to close them I have no problem at all. My baby soon started to gain weigh and he had no more problems with the gas. I have two more kids after my preemie was born and this is the only brand that I have trusted with them. I am using it right now with my new born. I will definitely recommend it to any parent. Just take the time to figure out how to use youre baby stuff BEFORE he arrives. And this includes CAR SEAT, STROLLERS, SWINGS, PLAYYARD ETC. Parents especially new parents leave things for the last moment and this it the TRUTH and then they get frustrated because they don't know how things work. It would save you a headache later on.

I love this set. I actually bought two! As a working and breastfeeding mom, this set makes my life so much easier. It is easy to store/ freeze milk in these bottles and then easily switch the top and send it to Day Care. My daughter took these bottles easily and goes back and forth between mommy and these bottles easily.
